Macomb Mall To Expand, Reorganize

ROSEVILLE (WWJ) - The 50-year-old Macomb Mall is ready to get a major facelift.

Along with moving around and expanding many of the existing storefronts, a Dick's Sporting Goods and Ulta will highlight the new additions to the mall, developer announced, at Steel Beam Signing Ceremony Wednesday.

"We have relocated some (stores) put them in a brand new footprint, expanded several of them," said Developer Karl Zarbo. "And the nice message there is that that's an endorsement by the tenants that they believe that the investment and the redevelopment of Macomb Mall will not only be good for us and  for the community, but certainly for the merchants."

Zarbo said it's a two-year project that will be completed in phases.

"We got this project started in very later 2013," he said. "This first phase is scheduled to end up with the grand opening of Dick's, and then we'll sort of disappear for November and December while we allow all of our merchants and our shoppers to enjoy the holiday season.

The second phase of the project will continue through 2015.

Macomb Mall is located at Gratiot and Masonic in Roseville.
