Gatorade Apologizes For Trolling LeBron James After Game 1 Loss

Thursday night during game 1 of the NBA Finals the air conditioning went out in the AT&T Center in San Antonio. LeBron James cramped up at the end of the game and wasn't himself. An hour after the game LeBron was still on the trainer's table.

According to SI.com LeBron wanted to try to come back into the game:

"I was going to try to give it a go and (Heat coach Erik Spoelstra) said no," James told a pool reporter after the game. "It sucks at this point in time in the season. … It was frustrating sitting out."

The first thing that came to my mind was "give this guy some Gatorade!" to refuel him. Then it clicked, LeBron James is sponsored by Powerade, which is a competing product of Gatorade.

Gatorade decided to take to twitter to let people know that if he were to drink Gatorade that maybe he wouldn't have suffered from cramps.

Remember that some of the best athletes in the world are sponsored by Gatorade. Maybe it's just one other thing that Michael Jordan has over LeBron James?

UPDATE: Gatorade has now apologized.

What do you think? Did Gatorade know what they were doing?
