Did Les Miles Want The Michigan Job? Sure Sounds Like It [BLOG]

It's not every day you're hanging out in Detroit and happen to run across LSU head football coach Les Miles.

But we were lucky enough to get a one-on-one with him at the "Sound Mind, Sound Body" football camp, where he was spending some quality time with his son.

As soon as I saw Miles, I wanted to ask him about Michigan. He played there, he was a grad assistant there and just about every Michigan fan wanted him to be the Wolverines next coach after Rich Rodriguez was fired.

Would he admit he wanted the job?

Would he admit he interviewed for the job?

"If it wasn't right for Michigan, I certainly understand," Miles said. "I have a wonderful place."

So does that mean he wanted the gig? Sure sounds like it, doesn't it?

Unfortunately there was no time for a follow-up, although, with as careful as he was with the answer, I doubt he would have gone any further. However, if you ask me to speculate... there is no doubt he wanted to be in Ann Arbor. Not only do I believe Miles wanted the job, I also believe that he interviewed for it and Athletic Director David Brandon decided to hire Brady Hoke instead.

Forgive me if it seems premature, but that seems more and more like the wrong decision...

Check out the Miles video to judge the comment for yourself. He also talks about the job Hoke is doing at Michigan and compares the SEC to the Big Ten.
