Casting Call: Actors Wanted For 'The Masquerade Of The Red Death'

ROYAL OAK (WWJ) - If you've ever wanted to see your name up in lights, now is your chance.

A casting call is being held on Saturday, June 28 to fill a number of roles in a masquerade ball live-action Halloween event called "The Masquerade of the Red Death."

If the name sounds familiar, there's a good reason: Mikal CG, the event's owner and producer, said it's based a famous story by Edgar Allan Poe.

"What we do is we take the original Edgar Allen Poe story 'The Masque of the Red Death,' which is also made into a movie in 1964 with Vincent Price, and we put the story around the guests at the event, so it's like they are in the middle of the story," CG said.

Producers are looking to hire several actors, both men and women, for main and supporting roles as well as extras.

"It's a masquerade ball, as in the story, with lots of different types of entertainment on stage but also there are actors playing out the parts of the story around the guests. So, the actors are what we're looking for this Saturday with the open casting call," he said.

The casting call runs from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. at The Actor's Loft on Main Street in Royal Oak.  Actors should bring along a resume and headshot photo.
