University Of Michigan Proposes Football Fireworks

ANN ARBOR (WWJ/AP) - The University of Michigan plans to light up the football field this fall with the help of fireworks displays.

The university's Athletic Department has proposed to use close proximity fireworks during home games against Miami University on Sept. 13 and Penn State on Oct. 11. The school's Board of Regents is set to vote on the plan Thursday.

The fireworks would be set off from the Michigan Stadium field and from the stadium's east and west towers.

The department has selected pyrotechnics company ACE Pyro to produce the show, although their proposal didn't provide a cost estimate.
