Look To The Left, And Other Travel Tips For English Soccer Fans

By Edward Cardenas

ANN ARBOR (CBS Detroit) - The British are coming! The Spanish too!

International soccer fans will be descending on Ann Arbor in the coming days for the Manchester United vs. Real Madrid match Saturday at Michigan Stadium.

While this is the first-ever match at Michigan Stadium, the teams are participating in games across the United States as part of the 2014 Guinness International Champions Cup.

To help Manchester United fans, and those from other clubs throughout England who are taking part in the games, the British government shared the following travel tips when coming to the United States:

  • bring identification if you are collecting or purchasing tickets on the day,
  • remember to look left when crossing the road and if driving keep to the right hand side,
  • note the legal age for alcohol in the United States is 21. You will be asked for valid identification to prove your age,
  • minimise the items you are bringing to the game; bags will be searched and you may be asked to dispose of items.

The game was sold out, but a limited number of tickets have been released by the promoter.
