YPSILANTI (CBS DETROIT) - The Thunder Over Michigan Air Show at Willow Run Airport this weekend featured some of the best military and civilian pilots, unique aircraft and WWJ's own Brooke Allen, who leaped and parachuted over 12,000 feet with one of the U.S. Army Golden Knights.

Spectators were able to see two days of flying including performances by an aerobatic biplane, an historic F-86 Sabre, the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds.

The highly-trained parachute team included SSGT David Echeverry, of East Lansing, and SSGT Shelby Bixler, of Port Huron. In addition to performing a number of aerial demonstrations, Bixler had the honor of flying  the American flag during the jump and emceeing the demonstration Sunday.

"It's an honor to be on the parachute team," said Bixler. "It's an elite program (comprised of) an elite group of soldiers and we get to represent our brothers and sisters that are serving stateside and overseas day-to-day."
