There are some times when sports superstitions just get a little out of hand. Saturday night is a prime example.
The Washington Nationals took on the Atlanta Braves in Atlanta and the Nationals’ Bryce Harper is taking some heat about something ridiculous.
While he was walking to the plate, he walked behind the Braves catcher and as he was behind home plate he dragged his foot across the Braves A that is behind home plate. See it in the video below.
The Braves announced the team had noticed Harper doing this and stated he had done it his previous two times at the plate.
Atlanta even tweeted about the situation.
I don’t really think this is a big deal, but the people in Atlanta sure do. They’re ‘A’ is as sacred to them as the Spartans ‘S’ in their locker room, and the big ‘M’ in the center of the U of M Diag.
For his part, Harper says he didn’t do it on purpose. He was quoted after the game saying, “That’s the last thing on my mind when I’m coming to the plate. I have no idea.”
Do you think Harper did this on purpose?
