New Dance Studio Opens In Ferndale To Move Creative Spirit

FERNDALE (WWJ) - A new dance studio is opening in Ferndale.

Dance is good for the soul, according to the owner of The Institution of Dance Arts, Ida Lowback, and good for nurturing the spirit.

Lowback, who has been dancing since she was in preschool, says dance is a great confidence booster for kids between 3 and 5.

The opening of the studio fulfills a  lifelong  goal to open a dance studio and bring creative movement to kids of all ages.

"It's a little looser, they get to explore how their bodies move and we have scenarios ... (like) we are on our way to a palace and we go through the woods and sneak into the castle and then they end up dancing, and they don't even realize they are dancing."

The Dance Institute will hold an open house on Saturday, Aug. 23, which will include trial classes.

The Institution of Dance Arts is located on Woodward Heights in Ferndale. You can find more information [HERE] or by calling (248) 697-2200.
