MSU Cancels Wiz Khalifa Concert, Citing 'Campus Concerns'

EAST LANSING (CBS Detroit) - Michigan State University has canceled a concert featuring rapper Wiz Khalifa, citing an "assessment of campus concerns."

The event had been planned for Saturday, Sept. 13, at MSU's Breslin Center.

In a statement, the East Lansing school says the concert is being called off due to its "review of recent events and assessment of campus concerns."

The statement promises that, "A full refund will be processed for all patrons within the next few days using the same method as the original payment. Patrons who purchased tickets with cash will receive a refund check within the next few weeks from MSU."

The announcement comes less than a week after a 38-year-old man was fatally shot backstage at a Wiz Khalifa concert in California.

Questions regarding refunds can be directed to the Breslin Center Ticket Office at 517-432-5000 or 1-800-968-BRES.
