Romulus Police Identify Man Wanted In Fatal Shooting

ROMULUS (WWJ) - Romulus police are hoping the public can help them track down an 18-year-old suspected killer.

LeAndre Lamar Childs is wanted for first degree murder and felony firearms charges in connection with a fatal shooting that took the like of a 25-year-old Romulus man earlier this week.

Childs is described as a black male, 5'3" tall and 145 lbs. with black hair and brown eyes. He might be driving a two-door older model Ford Probe, green or teal in color. He is to be considered armed and dangerous.

Police say the shooting took place around 7 p.m. Monday in the 15000 block of Harrison Street near Eureka Road, between Inkster and Middlebelt roads. Police responded to the area and found a 25-year-old man with a gunshot wound. He was rushed to a local hospital where he died as a result of his injuries. His name has not been released

Police believe the victim may have been involved in an altercation with Childs shortly before the shooting.

An investigation is ongoing.
