Poll Shows Snyder Holds Narrow Lead Over Schauer In Race For Governor
DETROIT (WWJ) - A new Detroit News-WDIV poll shows Governor Snyder now holds less than a 2 percent lead over Democrat Mark Schauer.
Since their last survey in May - Schauer has gained 7 percentage points.
"That's one of the reasons the governor is being much more aggressive now on television, in fact, he's just announced a new ad today to try to build up his image with the voters," said Gongwer News Service Publisher John Lindstrom.
While the polls show Schauer is gaining some momentum - Lindstrom has a feeling about the outcome.
"If the election were held today, Governor Snyder would probably win but very, very narrowly, and I think that's the sense most people have going into November."
In the other big race for U.S. Senate, Lindstrom says Gary Peters continues to hold a lead over Terry Lynn Land, but he thinks it's still too close to call.
