Big Brother Season 16 Episode 35 Recap: BBRewind

Julie Chen finally revealed to the houseguests the final twist of the season to the houseguest after they had pushed the mysterious button last week. But before that had happened we were treated to a recap of what happened after the POV ceremony and even a trip to the jury house. We also had Michigander, Big Brother alum and Season 10 winner Dan Gheesling come to talk to Julie about his thoughts on the final five. Dan even gave his pick as to who has been playing a good game. Let's recap and rewind to what happened last night's episode of Big Brother!

Victoria's Swan Song

It's still clear that Victoria will be the next to go; however she wasn't going to go without a fight. Derrick the puppet master for this season convinced Victoria to act as if he had betrayed her. Which is a smart move on his part to make him look as if he doesn't have a guaranteed vote from her. However the only person that may have believed it was Frankie. So Derrick told Victoria to cry to Frankie about feeling betrayed by Derrick. Like the good ally Victoria is to Derrick, went to Frankie and played out the strategy they came up with. The results of the fake cry look as though Frankie believing it and being a shoulder for Victoria to cry on. However we didn't see a diary room confessional from Frankie on this incident, so I'm taking it that Frankie bought it with a grain of salt. However it seemed as though Victoria wanted to get the last laugh and continue to be a supporter for Derrick, even if she isn't going to win the prize and title, she said she would gladly fight for Derrick. Being a Big Brother Fan, it irks me that she wouldn't continue fighting for her chance to stay. With the BBRewind finally revealed, maybe we'll see more of a fight from Victoria or maybe not.

Visiting The Jury House

We finally got to see the Jury house again. With time passing, it turns out Zach had a birthday and his gift from his fellow jury members was a new pink hat. I'm bummed we didn't get to see the reaction of when Donny arrived. It was nice to see the warm but also sad return welcome to Nicole in the jury house. An awkward moment was when Donny had imitated Christine's laugh as they were awaiting the next houseguest because Nicole mentioned that her second eviction was also a double eviction. Low and behold the person evicted right after Nicole was Christine and she was welcomed to the jury house with a cold shoulder. However all the jury members were in agreement that Derrick and Frankie were the clear front runners to win this game, Frankie being a competition beast while Derrick manipulating and befriending all houseguests.

Twist Is Revealed To Houseguests

As the houseguests were going about their day on Monday, the living room monitor appear and showed that the next live eviction was in 48 hours and it caused some hysteria in the house. All houseguests' agreeing that it was part of the twist and something was going to happen. Live Eviction was beginning, both Cody and Victoria gave their final plea speeches, but as the first person to enter the diary room to cast their vote, that being Derrick, the "mysterious button," clock down timed out and alarm was set off. Causing questions about what was going to happen. However the houseguests had to wait until after the commercial break to find out what was happening next. When we returned Julie showed the past week but being rewound as well as saying when the houseguests pressed the button they unleashed the next twist called, "BBRewind." That meant starting from the last eviction, they would all replay the competition for HOH and POV meaning Frankie's HOH was voided. Unfortunately for Derrick, it meant he was still ineligible to compete, as he was the outgoing HOH at the start of the week. A ridiculous question is will Jeff Schroeder repurpose to Jordan? Will they have the same faces in the "Circus Freak Show," POV? So many questions left in the air as the show ended. But with two weeks left, it's going to be a great time watching everything taking place.

My Ranking Of The Houseguest

  1. Derrick - Though he's sitting out yet again for the HOH competition, he's built a strong alliance with all the guys and Victoria do ensure his safety. I would just love to see him be nominated just once and have at least one vote cast for his eviction. But Dan Gheesling has been a fan of Derrick this season because Dan sees how much a fan Derrick is of the game. So Dan is flattered that Derrick is being referenced to him, but Derrick needs to win to truly be ranked next to Dan.
  2. Frankie - He may have lost his week of HOH and his chance of getting Victoria stalled, Frankie still is a competition beast. Though will he have what it takes to win the HOH competition again and POV? We'll have to see or he may be seeing the door.
  3. Caleb - With the BBRewind, Caleb may steal the HOH from Frankie as both were neck and neck last week. However Caleb needs to break away from both Derrick and Frankie to show he deserves a shot at the prize. He's had a lot of theories of what the twist was and he was wrong. So the Beast Mode Cowboy needs his head in the game.
  4. Cody - Cody's social game has been great but in terms of being a strong competitive player, it doesn't compare to Frankie or Derrick. He's relied on the alliance to get him to where he's at. He's almost a floater, but has made moves for himself, not great moves but moves in the game. Loved his reaction to Victoria's final plea speech.
  5. Victoria - Still a floater, but kudos to her on the prepared final plea speech. I'm sure Derrick helped her out.

My Prediction for HOH

Even though Frankie won this HOH competition last week, I'm going to predict Caleb winning it this time. Caleb made a fatal error last week and I'm sure he won't make the same mistake twice. But when watching the competition during the live show, it was interesting to see the houseguests having a much easier time with the competition. So hopefully the POV will be a tighter race too, or be even more confusing with face-morphed houseguests. These last two weeks will be jammed back. As mentioned by Julie Chen, Sunday we'll see who wins the HOH competition and the jury makes a surprise appearance in the house again! I wonder what they have in store and then Tuesday a live eviction and then Wednesday another live eviction for the week. Then a special episode on Friday next week, which has yet to be said, but from year's past will be a flashback episode and never before seen clips.

Tune in on Sunday at 8pm on CBS Detroit 62 for all the action! I'm excited and also sad the season is coming to a close but we're closer to finding out who this season's winner will be!
