Train Derailment Stalls Early Morning Traffic In Clinton Township

CLINTON TOWNSHIP (WWJ) - Canadian National Railroad officials say they plan to have the derailed train back on track Sunday afternoon.

Patrick Waldron, a company spokesman, says a train car carrying autos lost a pair of wheels around 3 a.m. Sunday.

The derailment closed 15 and 16 Mile Roads for several hours and motorists used Groesbeck Highway as a work-around.

The northbound train was headed from Toledo to Toronto when it jumped the tracks.
