CBS DETROIT - After losing two cornerbacks in the season's first two weeks, the Detroit Lions have added one. The team signed Danny Gorrer, who has bounced around the league since beginning his career as an undrafted free agent.

Gorrer played in 13 games over his last two seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He might have played more in 2013 had not he been placed on short-term injured reserve early in the season.

In 2011 Gorrer played in 11 games for the Baltimore Ravens after spending much of 2009 and 2010 on the practice squads of the New Orleans Saints and the Indianapolis Colts.

The Lions also promoted linebacker Julian Stanford from the practice squad. Stanford played in four games for Detroit in 2013. The previous season he played in all 16 games and started six for the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Detroit had placed cornerback Bill Bentley on injured reserve in week one after Bentley tore his ACL, and following Sunday's game the Lions went the same route with rookie Nevin Lawson, whose dislocated toes forced him to have immediate surgery.
