Detroit Red Wings Release 2014 Training Camp Roster

DETROIT – The Detroit Red Wings today revealed their roster for their 2014-15 training camp, which will be held this week at Centre ICE Arena in Traverse City, Mich. The camp kicks off on Thursday, Sept. 18 with the 15th annual Training Camp Golf Classic at the Grand Traverse Resort and Spa and will be followed by five days of on-ice practices and scrimmages, starting on Friday, Sept. 19.

Camp wraps up next week with back-to-back away preseason games against Pittsburgh and Chicago. The Red Wings will practice in Traverse City on the morning of Monday, Sept. 22 and will send one group of players to take on the Penguins at CONSOL Energy Center at 7 p.m., while non-lineup players practice again at Centre ICE Arena in the afternoon. The team holds its final practices in Traverse City on Tuesday, Sept. 23, as the whole team practices in the morning before one group travels to take on the Blackhawks at the United Center at 8:30 p.m. EDT, while the remainder of team practices at 11:30 a.m. and then returns to Detroit.

Other camp events scheduled include the Training Camp Alumni and Celebrity Hockey Game, scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 20 at 7 p.m., and the annual Red & White Game at 12 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 21. Detroit's camp roster currently stands at 66, comprised of 39 forwards, 20 defenseman and seven goaltenders. There are currently 14 tryouts on the roster. Red Wings players, prospects and tryouts will be split into three teams as they practice and scrimmage during camp.
