Man Found Guilty Of Murdering Farmington Hills Party Store Owner
FARMINGTON HILLS (WWJ) - The 43-year-old man accused of killing a 59-year-old Farmington Hills party store owner has been convicted on all charges.
Cassalle Nettles was found guilty of first-degree felony murder, armed robbery and various weapons charges in the 2013 death of Duraid "Dave" Lossia.
Nettles is due back in court for sentencing on October 20.
A customer found Lossia laying in a pool of his blood on Dec. 28, 2013 behind the counter of Tom's Party Store, on Inkster near 8 Mile Road, northwest of Detroit. Lossia, who was shot in the face, was declared dead at the scene.
Police say Lossia was killed in the commission of a robbery. Nettles was arrested two days later.
According to reports, Nettles' fingerprints were recovered on several items left behind at the store, which matched up with the last sale made that day. He was also caught on security cameras at area businesses around the time of the killing.
