Greektown Casino Funds $1.25 Million I-375 Ramp

DETROIT (AP) — The Greektown Casino-Hotel says it's paying about $1.25 million to widen an Interstate 375 exit ramp in downtown Detroit that serves the casino.

Greektown spokeswoman Jennifer Kulczycki said Monday that crews will expand the southbound edit ramp this fall from one to three lanes.

The casino says the Michigan Department of Transportation has approved the work.

Kulczycki says the project "will enhance safety and traffic flow in and around Detroit's Greektown neighborhood and central business district."

She says the current ramp can handle up to 1,600 vehicles per hour, while the expanded ramp will be able to handle double that number.

The spokeswoman says work will start Wednesday and take about 10 weeks to finish, with the ramp staying open except during off-peak hours.
