Samsung Prepares To Launch New Phones

SOUTHFIELD (CBS Detroit) - The next generation of Samsung smart phones will be rolled out in the coming weeks, and AT&T is taking orders for both the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and Samsung Galaxy Alpha.

AT&T and Samsung announced Monday that the Samsung Galaxy Alpha will be available starting Sept. 26 online at in AT&T retail stores.

"The Samsung Galaxy Alpha marries sleek, premium design with all of the great features and Samsung technology that you have come to expect from a Galaxy product," said Jeff Bradley, senior vice president – Devices, AT&T, in a release.

According to a release, the Galaxy Alpha features a slim, metal frame with a 4.7-inch screen, a 2.5GHz Quad Core processor and up to 32GB of storage. The Alpha also has 12MP rear-facing camera and a 2.1MP front-facing camera; an Ultra Power Saving Mode where a 10 percent charge will allow user to receive calls and texts for up to 24 hours and Samsung's S Health app.4 which allows users to track steps, challenge friends, earn medals and receive on-demand nutrition tips.

The phone is available in charcoal black, dazzling white and frosted gold. For information and pricing, visit AT&T's website.

AT&T is also now taking pre-orders for the new Samsung Galaxy Note 4, with shipping expected to start  Oct. 14. A date for retail sales has not been released. The new Note phone features 5.7-inch display, a 16MP rear-facing camera with optical image stabilization, 2.7GHz Quad Core processor and 3,220mAh removable battery.
