World Peace To Wear Pandas On His Shoes [BLOG]

Detroit fans remember Metta World Peace, formerly known as Ron Artest, for the infamous "Malice at the Palace" brawl in 2004.

World Peace is now out of the NBA and will be playing for the Sichuan Blue Whales of the Chinese Basketball Association this season.

After announcing this decision last month, he also said that he wants to be called a different name now. World Peace tweeted, "Guys my Chinese name is not "Panda Friend", its "The Pandas Friend."

Therefore, it's only fitting, of course, that he debuts new shoes called "The Panda's Friend" basketball shoe. The best part about these kicks is that they feature a stuffed panda head on the front of the shoe.

Initial reports indicated that the Panda doll was removable from the shoes, and that Metta would be throwing it into the crowd each game. World Peace recently clarified otherwise on his twitter account, saying that the panda is not detachable.

Artest/World Peace/Pandas Friend always seems to have something up his sleeve. I wonder what his next crazy move will be.
