'Michigan Matters' Focus: Growing The Defense Industry
(CBS Detroit) - What will it take to grow Michigan's defense industry?
Major General Gwen Bingham, commander of TACOM LCMC at the Detroit Arsenal, Scott Badenoch, Sr., founder and CEO of Badenoch, LLC, Sonya Sepahban, senior vice president of Engineering, Development and Technology at General Dynamics Land Systems, and Sean Carlson, vice president of MEDC, appear on a special edition of "Michigan Matters" this Sunday (11:30 a.m. on CBS 62) to talk about it.
They appear with "Michigan Matters" senior producer and host Carol Cain.
"We definitely have the talent within the organizations and community to support the defense department requirements and also have the ability with the world class professionals to grow the talent needed to meet our needs in the future," said Bingham.
The panel also talked about the synergy of the region – from its educational institutions, private sector and government – working together to create greater opportunities in the defense and homeland security sectors.
