Jon Fenlon Foundation Raises Thousands For Student Heart Check Program

DETROIT (97.1 THE TICKET) - "It's the perfect way to honor his memory," said Mike Fenlon, father of Jon Fenlon who passed away suddenly after the 2009 Detroit Free Press Half Marathon.

The Jon Fenlon Foundation, created in memory of Jon Fenlon, raised thousands of dollars during the 2014 Jon Fenlon Foundation Golf Outing, of which, $5,200 will benefit the 97. 1 The Ticket Student Heart Check Program.

"He loved kids," said his dad. "He talked about giving back, and I can't think of a better way to honor him."

Jon's legacy as a loving, caring and wonderful son, brother and friend is shared by raising money each year to donate to local Michigan causes.

A total of 106 people hit the course on September 6, at the Fountains Golf & Banquet Center in Clarkston.

The event raised over $10,000 this year.  A portion of the proceeds raised will benefit the 97. 1 The Ticket Student Heart Check Program and the Ronald McDonald House of Detroit.
