The seller, who is identified as kimberlyk1018, stated the iPhone is new and never used. The 64GB iPhone 6 was sent to her when she renewed her contract with Verizon.
Among the features offered which made her believe the phone was a prototype is that iOS8 has not been placed on this device, and has software called SwitchBoard which is an internal testing application meant only for Apple. There are no FCC markings on the rear of the device or a model number. Additionally, the lightning port is red.READ MORE: Community Responds After More Drownings Happen In South Haven
A caveat of the sale is that the seller cannot guarantee that the phone will make calls or that the camera will work. The winning bidder receives the phone, charger, headphones and wall charger.
“This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for you to take a part of,” the seller wrote. “I am also giving a 110% guarantee on this being an authentic Apple prototype device.”MORE NEWS: Dive Team Recovers Body Of Drowning Victim From Lake St. Clair
The buyer must have a PayPal verified address and be seller protection eligible. There is free shipping since bidding exceeded $4,000.
