UP High School Band Director Charged With Running Drug House
ST. IGNACE, Mich. (AP) - Authorities have arrested the band director at an Upper Peninsula high school, saying she was operating a drug house to sell marijuana.
Thirty-six-year-old Stephanie Terpening is out on $50,000 bond awaiting a pretrial hearing Oct. 21 at Mackinac County District Court in St. Ignace.
TV station WPBN/WTOM says Terpening is band director at LaSalle High School in St. Ignace.
She's charged with racketeering, conspiracy and marijuana sales. She was arraigned Friday, and the court said Monday that she didn't have a lawyer of record.
There's no phone listing for Terpening, and she couldn't be reached for comment Monday.
