DETROIT (WWJ) – A well-known entertainer showing Detroit some “Time, Love, and Tenderness” in a new documentary about the city’s comeback.

Singer Michael Bolton is spending more time in Motown these days, all due to an artistic focus on Detroit and the rebounding of the city after bankruptcy reports WWJ City Beat Reporter Vickie Thomas.

“People outside of Detroit don’t know it,” said Bolton. “People outside of Michigan don’t know it – so we are going to look forward to revealing the documentary when it’s done and celebrating the comeback of Detroit. Of course, Motown is a very big part of the comeback of Detroit.”

“When I tell people (outside of Detroit) what’s going on – they say ‘what do you mean?’ … There are people pouring money, and investing very wisely into the rebuilding of Detroit.”

Bolton has been working on the documentary for about two years and expects the film should be completed in early 2015.
