Pizza Guy Shot In Back After Making Delivery In Inkster

INKSTER (WWJ) - Police in Inkster are investigating after a pizza guy was shot in the back shortly after making a delivery in what investigators believe was a botched robbery.

The incident happened around 8:45 p.m. Tuesday in the 30000 block of Carlysle, in a neighborhood south of Michigan Avenue and Middle Belt Road.

According to police, a 32-year-old man had just made a pizza delivery and was walking back to his vehicle when two unknown black males attempted to rob him. When the victim tried to escape, the suspects fired multiple shots, which struck him in the back. The gunmen then fled the scene.

The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police did not provide detailed descriptions of the suspects.
