Rally Held For Slain 3-Year-Old Girl; Pastor Urges 'Not A Time For Vengeance'

DETROIT (WWJ) -- One local pastor hosted a rally in memory of 3-year-old Amiracle Williams on Saturday. The toddler was shot and killed at her eastside Detroit home last month.

Pastor David Bullock is the Pastor of the Greater St. Matthew Baptist Church and National Spokesperson for the Change Agent Consortium. Bullock said that as the city rebounds economically, families need to feel secure.

"We want to connect the recovery to the neighborhoods, to the entire town," Bullock said. "Children should not be killed and families should not live in fear. So, as the city comes back we want there to be stable and safer neighborhoods in the city of Detroit."

Bullock also said they have committed to buying a head stone for Amiracle at her final resting place and to find suitable housing for her family.

"We told the family to stay vigilant -- don't turn on each other, but turn to each other," Bullock said. "Also, it's not a time for vengeance or to lash out to the perpetrators and victims, but it's a time for the family to depend on each other and the community, and work with law enforcement, elected officials and churches to make sure that all of those who are responsible for the crime are brought to justice."

Bullock added that concentrating on the economic revival of Detroit should be the city's number one priority.
