Brotherly Love From Lions WR Corey Fuller To Bears CB Kyle Fuller: 'I Want Calvin To Beat Him'

ALLEN PARK (CBS DETROIT) - Corey Fuller plays wide receiver for the Detroit Lions, and Kyle Fuller plays cornerback for the Chicago Bears. The Lions took Corey in the sixth round last year; the Bears picked Kyle in the first round this year.
The brothers will spend Thanksgiving Day on opposite sides of Ford Field. Corey said earlier this week he does not know how much his family in attendance will cheer for the Lions and how much for the Bears, but he tried to shift the odds in his favor.
"I'm trying to get as much Lion gear for my family so they have to cheer for us," Corey said Tuesday, "but my parents got a jersey split in half with both of us, so I'm excited to see that too."
Kyle is listed as questionable for Thursday's game because of a knee injury, and Corey said while he obviously wants to see his brother out on the field, he would not want Kyle to further injure himself.
"I talked to him about it yesterday," Corey said. "Whatever he decides to do, I'm with it.
"It'll be fun, I think, if he does play, if he gets a chance to play, the first time we line up, me running out there and he's sitting there, waiting to cover me, I think we both might crack a smile but then really get into it," Corey added.
Corey said there will definitely be trash talk; he can get under Kyle's skin by referring to him as his little brother. When it comes to Kyle's production on the field, however, Corey has nothing bad to say.
"He's awesome," Corey said emphatically. "Kyle's awesome. He has three interceptions - big interceptions, too. Coming in as a rookie, a first-round draft pick rookie, I think he's exceeding expectations.
"We were watching film earlier today, and just watching some of the plays I had a little smirk on my face, and guys called me out like, 'Oh, that's your little brother!'" Corey added. "It's kind of fun."
He noted that competing against a brother raises the intensity, and he hopes Kyle does not catch any breaks against the Detroit receiving corps as a whole.
"He wants to stake out Calvin; he wants to go against the best," Corey said with a smile. "I want Calvin to beat him. It'll be fun. I want Jeremy Ross to beat him. I want Golden Tate to beat him. I want everybody to beat him."
Corey and Kyle talk almost daily, and Corey did not expect their conversations to cease because of the upcoming game. On second thought, he noted, Kyle had not responded to his text that morning.
"I need to get on him about that," Corey joked. "Actually I think we'll talk tonight, though - or I'll just call him from my dad's phone or somebody like that, make him talk to me."
The Lions (7-4) enter Thursday's game on a two-game skid. The Bears (5-6) have won their last two.
