All-Big Ten First Team Includes Five Spartans, One Wolverine

CBS DETROIT - Michigan State players raked in Big Ten honors Monday, with wide receiver Tony Lippett, offensive lineman Jack Allen, defensive lineman Shilique Calhoun and defensive backs Kurtis Drummond and Trae Waynes all selected by conference coaches to the All-Big Ten first team.

Coaches named Lippett the Richter-Howard Receiver of the Year, and Drummond was selected the Tatum-Woodson Defensive Back of the Year.

Michigan linebacker Jake Ryan also made the first team, the only Wolverine to do so, and his teammate Brian Griese won the Dungy-Thompson Humanitarian Award.

Michigan State quarterback Connor Cook, linebacker Taiwan Jones and offensive linemen Travis Jackson and Jack Conklin made the second team, and so did Michigan wide receiver Devin Funchess.

The Spartans finished the regular season with a record of 10-2, while the Wolverines ended up at 5-7.
