The Terminator Is Back...But Not The Same

The first full trailer for "Terminator: Genisys" is out and fans have had mixed reactions. The movie is not a remake and it is not really a sequel either. This middle ground is what has allowed the producers to throw a new wrinkle in the timeline.

"Genisys" begins a lot like the original "Terminator" movies, with John Connor sending Kyle Reese back in time to save his mother, Sarah Conner, from the Terminator programmed to kill her. But this time, when Kyle arrives, Sarah is ALREADY fighting the machines, and she says the time John sent him to "no longer exists." She also tells him that "WE" have already killed the Terminator (meaning her and Arnold Schwarzenegger, who battles the 1984 version of himself).

The movie company is gambling that not only will people will like the changes, but that they still want to see an aging Arnold in the role. There will be three films in this new franchise with the first coming out in July. It stars Emilia Clarke from "Game of Thrones" as Sarah Connor, Jason Clarke from "Zero Dark Thirty" as John Connor, and Jai Courtney as Kyle Reese.
