Jim Leyland: 'I Don't Know About That' When Talking About Trading Porcello Or Price

It's always good to catch up with former Detroit skipper Jim Leyland. Leyland, who still works in the organization, is at the baseball Winter Meetings in San Diego and has plenty of thoughts about what the Tigers will and won't do this offseason.

The majority of rumors surrounding the Tigers this offseason have dealt with the team possibly trading on of their starting pitchers that will be free agents next season. Both Rick Porcello and David Price could get plenty in return.

Does Leyland believe they'll be dealt?

"I don't know about that" Leyland said. "I like what we're sending out there every 5 days, I think (Shane) Greene is a great addition. I think those other four guys are really good and that's usually what gets you there and usually what gets you over the hump. I'd hate to deplete any pitching that we have, it's pretty darn good."

Leyland also was surprised that there hasn't been more buzz about Max Scherzer. "I'm kind of surprised being here at the Winter Meetings that you really haven't heard about Scherzer. (Jon) Lester seems to be the big name that's getting all the attention so far. I'm really not sure where that stands."

Check out the video for Leyland's thoughts about the Central Division now, if he second guesses other managers while watching games and how and why he will forever love Detroit.
