Vista Maria Restores The Dream Of A Future For Abused And Neglected Young People

President and CEO of Vista Maria Angela Aufdemberge says the organization, at its core, is about believing in the youth -- that they can have a job, go to college, be successful as parents through the services they provide.

Te'lesha came to the program at 7 years old when she and her siblings were taken away from their mother. She says her time spent at Vista Maria has brought stability and opportunities. "I've got two summer jobs through Vista Maria. I'm going to Henry Ford Community College because I graduated high school."

"It's not just about a handout, but a hand up. We expect every child in our program to be a successful contributing individual in their community in the future." added Aufdemberge.

This feature is part of CBS 62's Eye On Detroit series as seen weekdays during "CBS This Morning" between 7 and 9 a.m.
