Facebook Considering Dislike Button

By Edward Cardenas

SOUTHFIELD (CBS Detroit) - Facebook users may "like" a new feature being considered for the social media site that would allow them to "dislike" a post.

In a video posted on Facebook, founder Mark Zuckerberg said during a question and answer session with people from around the world that the company is considering the option.

"We are thinking about it," Zuckerberg said.

He said the "like" button allows users to quickly express a positive emotion or sentiment. But he added that there are some posts where people want to express a different sentiment besides liking something.

In the case of a sad, or tough, moment in life, "like" is inappropriate.

"Giving people the power to do that in more ways with more emotions would be powerful," said Zuckerberg, of giving more ways to show emotion. "But we need to figure the right way to do it, so it that ends up being a force for good."
