Armed, Masked Men Tie Up Mount Clemens Woman, Burglarize Her Home

MOUNT CLEMENS (WWJ) - Authorities are looking for three men who tied up a Mount Clemens woman in her own house and robbed the place.

Macomb County Sheriff Anthony Wickersham said the 67-year-old victim was returning home at around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday when the suspect — who were armed and wearing masks — approached her and forced her inside her own house

"The bound her when she was inside her home and went through the house looking for valuables, and ended up taking a lot of property from within the home and also taking her 1992 Cadillac," Wickersham said.

Wickersham said the suspect tied the woman up by her wrists and ankles, but did not otherwise physically harm her.

After about an hour, they even left her with knife so she could free herself once they were gone.

Wickersham said it's an unusual crime for this neighborhood.

"This was the first one that we've had of this nature here," Wickersham said. "And with looking at all the circumstances, there's two ways of looking at this: One, that it may be a random act, or two, if there's something more going on and maybe this house was targeted for a specific reason."

"Both of those aspects are being looking at by our investigators," he added.

The suspects were each described as black males, between 20 and 30 years old. They were wearing blue jeans and gym shoes and one wore a brown Carhartt jacket with a yellow neoprene mask over this face. The other two wore black neoprene masks.

The missing Cadillac is white with a blue landau roof and personalized license plate: BOXIII.

Anyone with information about this crime is asked to immediately call the Macomb County Sheriff's Office at 586-469-5151.
