The University of Michigan has reportedly made an offer to make Jim Harbaugh college football’s highest paid coach.

NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport has reported that Michigan has offered Harbaugh a six-year contract for $48 million.

Joe Pequeno, of CBS 5 in Arizona, reports the deal is worth slightly more, at six years and $49 million.

Harbaugh originally had the chance to be the head coach for Michigan in 2000 but instead opted to leave the Stanford Cardinals for the NFL’s San Francisco 49ers.
