Harbaugh Speculation Sending Ticket Prices Sky-High For Next U-M Basketball Game

ANN ARBOR (WWJ) - Jim Harbaugh will reportedly appear at the U of M Wolverines basketball game Tuesday afternoon.

Everything is pointing to the U of M naming Harbaugh as its next football coach -- now that the former quarterback has been released by the San Francisco 49ers..

With reports of the done-deal some are hoping to capitalize on his appearance reports WWJ's Sandra McNeill.

There are some jaw-dropping ticket prices popping up on StubHub for the game against Illinois.

The most expensive seats; a pair of seats in rows 12 and 13 on the lower sidelines listed for $3,200 each.

Even two seats in row 37 on the upper row sidelines are trying to fetch $2,900 a seat. The cheapest seats asking $107 apiece on the upper baseline - the cheapest seats for the next home game in January against Minnesota a mere $35 a seat.

There are reports that Harbaugh will sign a deal worth $48 million over six years.

That is not going over well with fans like Marvin Hickman of Southfield.

"Kind of bad because of the amount of money they are looking for, that's kind of outrageous, I think that's just a little too much money for a coach ... it just sets a bad precedent," said Hickman.

The Michigan Wolverines take on the Illinois Fighting Illini at Crisler Arena at 3 p.m.
