Referee Answers Cell Phone During Game [VIDEO]

I've always heard the term "when you gotta go, you gotta go."

However, I've never heard the term that when the phone rings you must always answer it no matter what else you're doing. That's not a thing.

That's exactly what happens in the video above. The filming took place in Oak Harbor, Wash., where North Whidbey Middle School and Oak Harbor Middle School faced off.

You will notice in the 46 second video the referee just chats away on his phone. He manages to continue reffing the game, but he is on his phone the entire video until the last second when you see him finally hang up.

For all I know it was a very important call he needed to take. I'm still surprised by the fact the ref had his phone in his pocket, ready and available, during the game.
