Personally, I think if you can’t stop the opponent then there shouldn’t be any complaining. In the words of Herm Edwards, “You play to win the game.”

Wednesday evening, Cass Tech’s woman’s high school team took on Osborn. Cass Tech won 80-0.

According to, Cass Tech’s coach Marissa Thrower did take out the starters in the second half to keep the score down, but Osborn just absolutely couldn’t score.

“My starters only played 6 minutes in the first quarter, then I put the seniors back in for literally 2 seconds, just so they could get a standing ovation when I took them out because it was senior night,” said Thrower.

I’m sure the coach feels awful but there is nothing you can do about it. Another famous quote from former Colorado coach Dan Hawkins fits here: “It ain’t intramurals!”
