Police: 3 Men Killed In Separate Michigan Snowmobile Crashes

FREEMAN TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) — Authorities say three men who went snowmobiling during a snowstorm have died in separate crashes.

The Clare County sheriff's department says a 45-year-old man didn't return from snowmobiling Sunday night and was found dead Monday. It says he struck a tree in Freeman Township, about 15 miles west-northwest of Clare.

The Oakland Press of Pontiac says that police in Oakland County's White Lake Township say a 43-year-old Waterford Township man was snowmobiling with others on what's supposed to be a non-motorized pedestrian and bike trail when he struck a gate and died about 1:20 a.m. Monday.

WNDU-TV says a man was snowmobiling in Berrien County's Baroda Township in southwestern Michigan on Sunday evening when a pickup truck struck him.

Authorities didn't immediately release the three victims' names.
