CBS DETROIT - It looks like the Detroit Lions will lose a coordinator this offseason after all.

Defensive coordinator Teryl Austin interviewed for NFL head coach openings but will remain with the Lions, but special teams coordinator John Bonamego will reportedly be leaving Detroit to become the head coach at Central Michigan, according to Hondo Carpenter of Spartan Nation.

The Detroit Free Press later confirmed the pending hire.

Bonamego joined the Lions in 2013. He had previously served as the special teams coordinator for the Jacksonville Jaguars, Miami Dolphins, New Orleans Saints and Green Bay Packers.
