Tesla Reportedly Raiding Apple For New Hires

SOUTHFIELD (CBS Detroit) - Tesla Motors is reportedly targeting a tech company over Detroit's automakers in its latest round of hiring.

Bloomberg reports that California-based company has hired at least 150 former Apple employees to the join Tesla's 6,000-employee workforce.

The report stated that Tesla hired a broad range of employees with a variety of backgrounds including engineering, human resources and marketing.

This comes as cars become more computerized, analysts stated in the story, with software comprising 10 percent of the value of the car to 60 percent in the coming decade.

Tesla's CEO Elon Musk reportedly said the car company and Apple have a closely aligned design philosophy. Over the past five-year, Bloomberg reports that Tesla has hired a number of Apple employees including the man who helped design Apple's retail stores and engineers.

While Tesla is attracting talent from Apple, the computer company is also trying to recruit personnel from Apple, the story stated, but have attracted "few" people Bloomberg stated.
