The victim, identified as a 16-year-old boy, was lying in the eastbound lanes of 12 Mile in front of a small compact car when WWJ’s Marie Osborne happened to be passing the scene.

Police say the boy, a student at the high school, was apparently trying to cross the road when he was struck. According to police, a driver in one vehicle saw the boy and swerved, but the next car couldn’t avoid striking him.
