P.F. Chang's Opens At Detroit Metro Airport

ROMULUS (CBS Detroit) - Travelers flying into and out of Detroit Metropolitan Airport will now be able to pick up an order of chicken lettuce wraps and Mongolian beef from P.F. Chang's new airport location.
This is the second airport location for the popular chain of restaurants which offer Asian-inspired dishes. P.F. Chang's previously opened in Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport in August 2013.
"We're proud to bring P.F. Chang's unique, Asian-inspired experience to the Detroit Metropolitan Airport," said Mike Welborn, President of Global Brand Development, in a release. "We look forward to welcoming guests ready to enjoy a culinary journey as they travel with our fresh menu, robust flavors and signature service."
P.F. Chang's new 4,684-square foot restaurant is located in the center of the McNamara Terminal, across from Gate 38. The location, which is open from 6:30 a.m. – 10 p.m., can seat 166 customers.
The new airport location will offer travelers made-to-order Asian fare, a full bar and a breakfast menu. P.F. Chang's new airport location will offer 35 starters, soups, salads, entrées, sides and desserts as well as 10 gluten-free dishes.
Morning travelers will be able to have breakfast dishes unique to P.F. Chang's airport locations including:
- Breakfast fried rice — chicken apple sausage, julienned carrots, bean sprouts and scallions, tossed in savory sauce, topped with a sunny-side egg.
- Classic bacon and eggs — two eggs served with bacon or chicken apple sausage, a toasted bagel and a side of mixed fruit or home fries drizzled with P.F. Chang's signature spicy sauce.
- Apple smoothie — Greek yogurt blended with fresh Granny Smith apples, honey and orange juice, finished with a swirl of honey.
The new P.F. Chang's is one of 25 new food and beverage concepts announced in 2014 for the McNamara Terminal. Others concepts which are scheduled to open include iChick-fil-A, Plum Market with Zingerman's Deli, Andiamo Italian restaurant and ta gate hold-room dining experience themed on Detroit's historic Eastern Market.
