Facebook Tip Helps Identify Michigan Teen Murdered Decades Ago

DETROIT (WWJ/AP) - Authorities say a Facebook tip has helped lead to the identity of a victim found stabbed to death in Louisiana's woods 34 years ago.

Investigators say the identity of the victim is 17-year-old Carol Ann Cole, of Kalamazoo.

Cole's remains were found Jan. 28, 1981, on a rural logging road near Princeton. The mystery of her identity was solved after the sheriff's office created a Facebook page in February, using a reconstructive composite drawing of what the woman might look like now.

The investigation into Cole's killer continues.
