CBS DETROIT - Detroit Lions linebacker Stephen Tulloch, who played only three games in the 2014 season before he tore his ACL while celebrating a sack, will be back with the team next year. He is scheduled to make a base salary of $4.5 million this season and $5.5 million in 2016.

Some wondered whether Tulloch might end up as a cap casualty because the younger and less expensive Tahir Whitehead, 24, filled in for him so well. Lions general manager Martin Mayhew basically put the speculation to rest at the NFL combine, reaffirming how much the team likes Tulloch, and the player himself erased all doubt when he announced on social media that he will definitely be in a Detroit uniform in 2015.

Tulloch, 30, did not miss a single game in the first eight seasons of his career.
