Homeowner Opens Fire On Trio Of Intruders In Detroit

DETROIT (CBS DETROIT) - It's the second type of shooting in as many days in the city of Detroit.

As Newsradio 950's Stephanie Davis reports a homeowner opens fire on trio of intruders.

Detroit Police tell WWJ that a single mother, reportedly a school teacher, arrived home and found three men inside.

The woman opened fire hitting one of them in the shoulder. That intruder, believed to be in his twenties, is hospitalized in police custody and is expected to recover.

The two other intruders escaped.

The woman, who is licensed to carry a weapon, was not hurt but a little shook-up by everything that happened.

Neighbors say there have been a rash of break-ins in recent days in the area of Kelly Road off of Morross and Morang.

If you have any information about this incident you are asked to contact Detroit police.
