Officials: Stolen Electronics Ring Busted In Ohio, Michigan

TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) - Federal agents say they've broken up a stolen electronics ring in Ohio that sold computers and mobile phones in Toledo, Michigan and the Middle East.

The U.S. Department of Justice says 26 people were indicted on Tuesday as agents carried out several raids in and around Toledo.

Federal officials say the ring was operated mainly by family members who bought stolen electronics from drug addicts and poor people.

The government says some of the suspects operated clothing, electronics and convenience stores in Toledo and used those businesses to buy and sell stolen and counterfeit items.

Agents say some of those items also were sold in Michigan and overseas. Most of those indicted are from the Toledo area, while six are from the Detroit area.
