DETROIT (WWJ) – If you’ve seen the movie (possibly many times) and sang along with the songs, but you’re not quite ready to “let it go” … check out “Disney On Ice” featuring all your favorite characters from “Frozen” — in person and on skates.

Josh Whidborne of Oxford, England — who was a competitive skater in Europe — will be skating on American ice for the first time, performing in the show this weekend at the Palace of Auburn Hills.

He told WWJ Newsradio 950’s Ron Dewey that “Frozen” on ice is a surprisingly tough gig because of how popular it is.

“We’re doing so many shows each week; I think it’s breaking records left right and center to be honest with you,” Whidborne said. “So, yeah, it’s actually very much a challenge for even ex-competitive skaters to be on this show.”

Whidborne is an ensemble skater, which means he gets to appear in many numbers throughout the show. His favorite part though, is when he gets to play Prince Eric in the finale.

What’s he love about it?

“Just how the audience gets behind each song, and you get such a buzz because thousands of people are getting up and singing the words to the song. It just feels so special.”

From Calgary, Melissa Horkoff has been with the tour since September, and every show is different for her.

“Our audiences have been just crazy and the kids come, and they come dressed up as Elsa or Anna, and they sing along to the songs, and it’s really just an amazing experience,” Horkoff said.
