Traffic Alert: Weekend Road Work

DETROIT (WWJ) - As spring weather is returning to metro Detroit, so are those dreaded construction barrels.

The following road work projects have been announced by MDOT. As always, some of this work may be postponed due to weather.

I-275:

In Wayne County, north and south I-275 at Huron River Drive will close for less than 15 minutes between 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. Saturday for utility work.

US-24: (Telegraph Rd.)

In Wayne County, north and south US-24 near Fenkell Road will have a single lane closure through Tuesday, March 31, during 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for utility work.

In Wayne County, north and south US-24 has one lane closed near Will Carlton/Gibraltar Road through 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 31, for pump station repair.

US-12: (Michigan Ave.)

In Wayne County, east and west US-12 between 3rd Street and Wyoming Avenue will have right lane closures between 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily for utility work.

In Wayne County, east US-12 near US-24 (Telegraph) will have single lane closures between 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. through April 29 for utility work.

I-75:

In Wayne County, north and south I-75 (under I-94 east) between Piquette Avenue and Ferry Street has only one lane open 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. for urgent bridge repair work through Friday night. The Clay Street ramp to south I-75 is also closed.

Construction continues on:

M-53: (Van Dyke Ave.)

In Macomb County, north and south M-53 (Van Dyke) between 14 1/2 Mile and 18 Mile Roads has the left lane closed through Friday, May 15. Also, 16 Mile Road has one lane blocked, leaving only two lanes open in each direction at M-53. And eastbound 18 Mile Road has one lane blocked, leaving only one lane open.

I-75:

In Wayne County, north and south I-75 under Woodward Avenue (M-1) has a single lane closed for M-1 construction over freeway through June 2015.

M-85: (Fort St.)

In Wayne county, M-85 (Fort Street) bridge over the Rouge River is closed between Oakwood and Miller Road through Spring 2015.

I-94/I-69: (Military/Huron St)

In St. Clair County, north and south I-94 Business Loop/I-69 Business Loop over the Black River is closed for bridge maintenance through the end of March.

M-29:

In St. Clair County, M-29 remains closed over the Pine River for bridge maintenance work through the end of March. Follow the posted using Puttygut (cars) or Chartier (trucks), King, Fred Moore Highway, and Clinton Avenue.
