DETROIT (WWJ) – Detroit police are trying to figure out who broke into a beauty supply store overnight.

The suspects didn’t get in through the door, they busted a hole in the bottom of a wall at Kay Beauty Supply on Michigan Avenue east of Lonyo and crawled in.

The security alarm went off, scaring them away–but not before they were able to swipe several hundred dollars worth of merchandise.

The owner, who did not want to give his name, told WWJ’s Ron Dewey that this sort of thing happens once or twice a year and he hopes that he doesn’t lose other tenants in the building because of the break-in.

No one was injured.
